We are so thrilled to have Asia Pyron, former VLA collaborator, back in Boston. Her contagious energy and intricate choreography makes for a full class. I hope to see the VLA community members joining in on the fun. Expect to sweat! - Director Victoria

Director of PYDANCE, Asia Pyron will be visiting Boston to teach PYDANCE repertoire created in her current residency. Asia's work involves historical reference, pop culture, and personal investigation within contemporary dance. Asia Pyron is a former VLA DANCE collaborator and formed her collective, PYDANCE, in the city of Boston in 2018.

Asia is originally from Atlanta, GA but received most of her early training at Interlochen Arts Academy in Northern Michigan. After graduating, Asia attended the Boston Conservatory at Berklee where she received her B.F.A. in Contemporary Performance and Composition in 2020. During her time in Boston, she formed her dance collective, PYDANCE and performed her works in local dance festivals such as the Boston Contemporary Dance Festival, Onstage360, and the Boston Conservatory WinterWorks concerts. Asia has been a guest artist for organizations such as Dance Lab New York, the Dance Complex, Boston Center for the Arts, Cambridge Arts Council's Stream Festival, Marin School of the Arts, the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, Dance On Set: LIVE and QuarIntensive. She has also been a finalist in choreography competitions such as Choreography Online and the UNCSA Summer Residency program. Outside of her work as a choreographer, Asia is also the marketing coordinator for MIDDAY Movement Series in Boston, MA. Asia continues to build PYDANCE and her experiences as an emerging choreographer. PYDANCE is currently in the process of starting a residency in New York City with Mare Nostrum Elements for their Emerging Choreographer Series.
