Massachusetts has new stricter mandates around COVID-19 safety. "The simple truth is this: Too many of us have become complacent in our daily lives," (Governor Baker, Boston Globe)

The new mandates include the following (read more at mass.gov here):

  • Everyone above the age of 5 must wear a mask in public regardless of distance to others (official order)

  • A new stay at home advisory instructs all residents to stay home between 10 PM and 5 AM

  • Most businesses must be closed by 9:30 PM

  • Indoor gatherings at private residences are restricted to 10 people, and gathering must end by 9:30 PM

  • Outdoor gatherings at private residences are restricted to 25 people, and gathering must end by 9:30 PM

    • "Organizers of gatherings report known positive COVID-19 cases to the local health department in that community and requires organizers to cooperate with contact tracing."

    • Any violation of these laws can result in a fine of $500

Update Friday, November 6 - Question one was passed in Massachusetts and Question two was denied.
