Massachusetts has new stricter mandates around COVID-19 safety. "The simple truth is this: Too many of us have become complacent in our daily lives," (Governor Baker, Boston Globe).
The new mandates include the following (read more at mass.gov here):
Everyone above the age of 5 must wear a mask in public regardless of distance to others (official order)
A new stay at home advisory instructs all residents to stay home between 10 PM and 5 AM
Most businesses must be closed by 9:30 PM
Indoor gatherings at private residences are restricted to 10 people, and gathering must end by 9:30 PM
Outdoor gatherings at private residences are restricted to 25 people, and gathering must end by 9:30 PM
"Organizers of gatherings report known positive COVID-19 cases to the local health department in that community and requires organizers to cooperate with contact tracing."
Any violation of these laws can result in a fine of $500
